Hello,

i try to build applications with lazarus using qt/embedded so they can work without XServer running a XUbuntu 9.04.

I downloaded and compiled the latest qt source 4.5.2. I downloaded also the latest binding for fpc V1.72.

Compiling the QT-Source seems to be ok.

But compiling the binding fails:

./compile_lib_qtopia.sh i386

Note: ./compile_lib_qtopia.sh i386 will compile with g++, ./compile_lib_qtopia.sh will compile with arm-linux-g++ using g++ and strip

I see that there is a typo in my compile script. Sorry :-) Remove the word BINUX from the line $GCC.

$GCC -D QTOPIA -D Q_WS_QWS $INCLUDE_PATH .... (should not be *BINUX* between *Q_WS_QWS* and *$INCLUDE_PATH*)

As there is a bug for the embedded part in qt-all-opensource-src-4.5.2.tar.gz that I use, I could not really test embedded i386. I will download, configure and compile qt-all-opensource-src-4.5.3.tar.gz (hope that one is fixed) or use qt-embedded-linux-opensource-src-4.5.3.tar.gz. and check if that typo fix is sufficient. And then make a new release.

I use qt-all-opensource-src to detect all functions available on all platforms in one Qt directory.

In the mean time just try with the word BINUX removed.

I got qt-embedded-linux-opensource-src-4.5.2 on arm-linux-uclibcgnueabi-.

Any chance to get libqt4intf.so for arm-linux?

I would love to use lazarus + qt4 on my Arm9 at91sam9263 SBC.

So what have you done?

I was using QT-Embedded for Linux 4.5.3
i did "./configure -embedded generic", "make" and "make install". I checked the demos & examples and qt seems to work.

i downloaded the FPC-Binding 1.72.
I removed the "BINUX" and inserted the correct QT-Source-Dir.

If i try to run "./compile_lib_qtopia.sh i386" these errors occurs:

i tried QT-Embedded 4.5.2 also, but there is no difference in the output. Have i forgott something?

You must link Qt (not bindings but qt libs) against openssl (give the path to openssl include files etc...)

This is distro qt compatible. If parts of qt are missing, lazarus would not compile either because some calls are not present.

e.g. QT_NO_PRINTER and QT_NO_PRINTDIALOG would prohibit lazarus to compile. see src/corelib/global/qfeatures.h for all possibilities.

At the moment , I am on arm-linux-uclibcgnueabi- on root file system built using buildroot with uclibc. This is quite suited for my SBC, which has modest Ram (64M) and 265M flash. I able to get cross compile fpc and do get a working ppcrossarm
using :-

make distclean crosszipinstall CPU_TARGET=arm CROSSOPT='-CfSOFT -darm -dFPC-ARMEL -gl' FPC=/usr/local/bin/fpc
BINUTILSPREFIX=/usr/buildroot-v23434/build_arm/staging_dir/usr/bin/arm-linux-uclibcgnueabi-

Dont use scratchbox as of now. I do cross compile on a debian machine with --host=arm-linux

Compiling the binding now works! (is -embedded not necessary for ./configure?) But if i try to compile Lazarus with qt (or an application for qt) this error occurs:

:-) because it cannot find the lib libqt4intf.so
copy it in a directory where the other libraries like libQtCore.so.4* are. Note that since the versioning, for linking a libqt4intf.so needs to be found. But to run a program linked to libqt4intf, a libqt4intf.so.5 needs to be found. so create 2 links of these names to the file libqt4intf.so.5.1.XY.

If I remember well, -embedded is only to activate specific cross-compiling -embedded arm -> call arm-linux-g++ instead of g++, you need to extend the path to include the dir where arm-linux-* is.
