MouseOver hint is broken

Hello,

after the first start of lazarus, the mouseover-hint is broken. Here is an example:

If I close the project and re-open it is OK!
It happens at every start of lazarus.

Lazarus 0.9.31 SVN Revision: 35540M
Free Pascal Compiler version 2.6.0 [2012/02/15] for x86_64 opensuse 12.1 gtk

Sorry! In the moment, I have not enough time.
Today I have build my 'fpc-2.7.1-svn20424.rpm'
and 'lazarus rev.35591'.
The problem remains. (kde 4.8.0-2; gtk2-2.24.7; nvidia) A test on another computer with 32bit displays the same error. (openSUSE 12.1, kde-4.8.0, gtk2, intel)

I start 'icewm', then there is not the problem!
I must search the error in my system ... (gtk2/gtk3?)

I start 'icewm', then there is not the problem! I must search the error in my system ... (gtk2/gtk3?)

Maybe it has to do with compositing. I have the same bug. Lazarus and FPC from svn about a week old.
Ubuntu Oneiric 64-bit.
Gnome3 with hw accelerated compositing (not sure if they still use compiz or only for their fallback mode) gtk2: 2.24.8-2

Install the most recent snapshot of FPC/Lazarus. It has a TMySQL51Connection component. The version in subversion should have it.

hm...it's very strange..I cannot reproduce it in any way. Tested on Fedora 16 64bit too (kde, gnome, xfce)

Ok, just tell me if composition is ON or OFF so I can try to fix it. As I already mentioned : I cannot reproduce it (but I don't use compositing).

use mysql51Connection
and replace localhost with 127.0.0.1

Ok, just tell me if composition is ON or OFF so I can try to fix it.

It is not as easy as that. I tested different desktop environments with and without compisiting. There's no problem without compositing and there is no problem with compiz compositing. The problem manifests itself only in Gnome3 mode for me which uses compositing but not compiz. Some hints are broken when shown for the first time (I did not see any pattern). Showing a broken hint a second time with no different hint shown in between always works. Showing a broken hint a second time with different hints in between sometimes works and sometimes doesn't (again no pattern). If I can provide any help just tell me what to do.

ok, I'll test under FC16 gnome3 when I have some spare time to do that.
