That's the problem. You are using an old config. Please delete /etc/ppc386.cfg.

Yes there is. Normally in
Downloads -> src RPMs -> Lazarus src RPM for FPC 1.0.10 But it seems the links are still buggy.
You can try
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89339.

And I just checked and the FPC rpm looks good to me.

I installed Lazarus 0.9.0.2 from the RPM downloaded from the lazarus site. I have FPC 1.0.10 installed. I'm running Redhat 7.2. Lazarus looks great and I can create an initial form. But if I double click on, say, a button, I get: ### TCodeToolManager.HandleException: "unit not found: CustApp" at Line=49 Col=23 in "/usr/share/lazarus/lcl/forms.pp"

The IDE didn't found your FPC sources (RPM fpcsrc). Check Environment->Environment Options->FPC Source Directory.

It seems your FPC is not the one, that was used to compile the lazarus RPM. Download the lazarus src RPM and rebuild it:
rpm --rebuild lazarus-0.9.0.xxx.src.rpm
Then uninstall the old lazarus and install the new.

Here is my /etc/fpc.cfg (dated July 14, which is when I installed FPC 1.0.10) with all the comments stripped out: -OG2p3 -Xs -g -Crtoi -Sgic -Fu/usr/lib/fpc/1.0.10/units/$target -Fu/usr/lib/fpc/1.0.10/units/$target/* -Fu/usr/lib/fpc/1.0.10/units/$target/rtl -Fl/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96 -Xs -l -viwn

Looks ok.

There is a unit called classes.ppu in '/usr/lib/fpc/1.0.10/units/linux/fcl', should I add that?

No. It's already in the path.

I installed Lazarus 0.9.0.2 from the RPM downloaded from the lazarus site. I have FPC 1.0.10 installed. I'm running Redhat 7.2.

Lazarus looks great and I can create an initial form. But if I double click on, say, a button, I get:

### TCodeToolManager.HandleException: "unit not found: CustApp" at Line=49 Col=23 in "/usr/share/lazarus/lcl/forms.pp" TMainIDE.DoOpenEditorFile END "/usr/share/lazarus/lcl/forms.pp" TDesigner.InvokeComponentEditor ERROR: Unable to find method. Plz fix the error shown in the message window.

When I try to run it (i.e., click the 'play' button), I get:

TOutputFilter: "interfacebase.pp(6,13) Fatal: Can't find unit
CLASSES"

Here is my /etc/fpc.cfg (dated July 14, which is when I installed FPC 1.0.10) with all the comments stripped out:

-OG2p3

-Crtoi
-Sgic

-Fu/usr/lib/fpc/1.0.10/units/$target/rtl
-Fl/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/2.96

There is a unit called classes.ppu in
'/usr/lib/fpc/1.0.10/units/linux/fcl', should I add that?

This setting looks right. It says '/usr/share/fpcsrc/' and the src rpm is installed in the usual place. If I list the files, I get a mess like this:

I got the lazarus src package from sourceforge but I guess I'm doing something wrong; as shown below, it seems to be saying that the package file doesn't exist. amead]# ls -l lazarus-0.9.0.4-fpc_1.0.10_030911.src.rpm -rw-rw-r-- 1 amead amead 4843360 Sep 24 22:10 lazarus-0.9.0.4-fpc_1.0.10_030911.src.rpm amead]# rpm --rebuild lazarus-0.9.0.4-fpc_1.0.10_030911.src.rpm lazarus-0.9.0.4-fpc_1.0.10_030911.src.rpm: No such file or directory

Strange indeed.

Note: Since rpm 4.0 you need rpmbuild --rebuild xxx.src.rpm

I got the lazarus src package from sourceforge but I guess I'm doing something wrong; as shown below, it seems to be saying that the package file doesn't exist.
