Hi,

Are there any libsdl units for FPC available? Sorry if it's too trivial, or discussed in the near future, but i can't find it between the packages in the CVS, and i have no time to dig myself into the problem right now...

I do know that there are Jedi SDL bindings, and did you check contributed units?

Hi,

I have used SDL4FreePascal for some time. Simplysearch it with google. It worked fine with FPC 1.0.6 under Windows, I have not used it under Linux, but I guess it is about the same.

Please notice that libsdl is not ported completely.

Holger

I rather reccomend SDL4FreePascal by Daniel Mantione, just do a freshmeat search to get the download link.

Hi,

well libsdl for freepascal is not a port, it's just a binding to the SDL library. Everything works fine in Windows, Linux, QNX, BeOS, Solaris and FreeBSD. I've also added some missing functions to the libsdl units.

I've also wrote bindings for LCMS, CUPS and FreeType2... and everything works fine again ;-)

I would be interested in adding CUPS and FreeType2 to the FPC packages. I don't know what LCMS is, though.

Michael.

LCMS is a Little Color Management System ,
liblcms.so library is bundled with most modern Linux distributions.

Ok, I will clean those binding units a bit and e-mail them to you. They still contain some Pixel32 specific stuff :)

Hi,

here are my bindings to FreeType2 engine and to SMPEG library. Both are present or may be present on all platforms supported by FPC.

They are not 100% complete but enough to load and render TrueType and Type1 fonts and to play MPEG videos with SDL.

I will continue improving these bindins and prepare also support for ICM engine (color management), SANE (scanner access in linux/unix/beos), TWAIN32 (scanning in windows), WinTab digitizer services (tablets in windows) and CURL (URL handling library in windows/linux/beos) which I wrote myself mainly for Pixel32 (www.pixel32.sk)

regards, Pavel Kanzelsberger

Oh and of course I forgot CUPS (Common Unix Printing) :-)
