Leonardo M. Ramé

Hi, when I work on a Linux machine my preferred editor is Vim, the newest versions of it (version 7 and up) includes very interesting features, like Tabs, Code completion with a menu (similar to CodeInsight), Syntax Highlighting and many other features.

My question is, does anyone uses Vim to code FPC programs? anyone knows how to setup Vim to create a shorcut to compile a program? and to show the compilation results in another window?.

Thanks, in advance,

Leonardo

I'm using VIM but I do not compile things using a shortcut of any sort. you can do something like:

if you want to capture things in linux, you can do the following:

ppcXXXX <file> 1>>&2 /dev/OpenTerminal

I did not test it, only using my memory. So try to convert it to VIM script and you will have it.

Ido

I do use gVim to code programs for years, not only Pascal, also C and PHP. About compilation, I always used a "make" in the console, but looking at Vim's web I've found this (if you didn't read them yet): http://vimdoc.sourceforge.net/htmldoc/usr_30.html, http://vimdoc.sourceforge.net/htmldoc/usr_40.html and http://vimdoc.sourceforge.net/htmldoc/usr_42.html.
