Compiler messages

This appendix is meant to list all the compiler messages. The list of messages is generated from he compiler source itself, and should be fairly complete. At this point, only assembler errors are not in the list.

For an explanation of how to control the messages, section Compiler configuration.

  1. General compiler messagesThis section gives the compiler messages which are not fatal, but which display useful information. The number of such messages can be controlled with the vario
  2. Scanner messages. This section lists the messages that the scanner emits. The scanner takes care of the lexical structure of the pascal file, i.e. it tries to find reserved words
  3. Parser messagesThis section lists all parser messages. The parser takes care of the semantics of you language, i.e. it determines if your Pascal constructs are correct. Error
  4. Type checking errorsThis section lists all errors that can occur when type checking is performed. Error 4000: Type mismatch This can happen in many cases: The variable you’re ass
  5. Symbol handlingThis section lists all the messages that concern the handling of symbols. This means all things that have to do with procedure and variable names. Error 5000: I
  6. Code generator messagesThis section lists all messages that can be displayed if the code generator encounters an error condition. Error 6009: Parameter list size exceeds 65535 bytes T
  7. Errors of assembling/linking stageThis section lists errors that occur when the compiler is processing the command line or handling the configuration files. Warning 9000: Source operating system
  8. Executable information messages. This section lists all messages that the compiler emits when an executable program is produced, and only when the internal linker is used. Fatal error 9128: Can
  9. Linker messagesThis section lists messages produced by internal linker. Fatal error 9200: Executable image size is too big for <arg. 1> target. Fatal error when resulting exec
  10. Unit loading messages. This section lists all messages that can occur when the compiler is loading a unit from disk into memory. Many of these messages are informational messages. Uni
  11. Command line handling errorsThis section lists errors that occur when the compiler is processing the command line or handling the configuration files. <arg. 1> [options <inputfile> [option
  12. Whole program optimization messagesThis section lists errors that occur when the compiler is performing whole program optimization. Fatal error 12000: Cannot open whole program optimization feedb
  13. Package loading messages. This section lists all messages that can occur when the compiler is loading a package from disk into memory, saving a package from memory to disk or when parsin
  14. Assembler reader errors. This section lists the errors that are generated by the inline assembler reader. They are not the messages of the assembler itself. General assembler errors Div
