Quick Find, Object Pascal port

A faithful Free Pascal / Object Pascal port of the original DOS QF, with the original C implementation treated as the behavioral specification.

Build

bash
./build.sh

or:

bash
make

The executable is written to bin/qf.

On Unix shells, quote or escape wildcard patterns so QF receives them instead of the shell expanding them first:

bin/qf \* /CF
bin/qf '*.pas'

Archive support

Supported:

  • ARC, PAK, DWC, ZIP, ZOO
  • LARC, LHA, LZH, LZS
  • TAR, CAB

Experimental:

  • ARJ
  • RAR4

Recognized:

  • 7Z, parser not implemented yet

Archive readers normalize every member into the same TFileInfo record used by the search and display engine. Archive members are displayed beneath the containing archive with a * marker while retaining their internal path.
