Building

Requires Lazarus/FreePascal installed.

  • From Lazarus IDE / lazbuild: open gledit.lpi (or gledit-lldb.lpi / gledit-gdb.lpi for debug builds with lldb/gdb) and build normally.
  • From Xcode: XCode/GLeDitor3.xcodeproj is only a thin wrapper — it does not compile any Pascal code itself. Its Run Script build phase shells out to lazbuild and copies the resulting binary and resources into the .app bundle, which Xcode then signs. Before building from Xcode, update the LAZBUILD_PATH build setting (Debug and Release) to match the lazbuild path on your machine — it's an absolute path and will differ depending on how you installed Lazarus (e.g. via fpcup/fpcupdeluxe, Homebrew, or the official installer).
  • The legacy XCode4/ project follows the same pattern but is kept as-is and not actively maintained.
