README

Youtube, DownLoad Please!

A barebones YT-DLP Front-End Made in Delphi

This Program relies on YT-DLP and FFMPEG. Credits to the respective developers

The program comes bundled with version 2025.12.08 of YT-DLP and has the ability to install the essential build of FFMPEG from gyan.dev using winget.

Pressing the "Pick Video and Download" button allows you to enter a URL for the program to pass to YT-DLP

By default, the program will download both audio and video from the URL and place the combined file in Videos\ This can be changed in the Options Menu

Ticking "Audio Only" or "Video Only" allows you to select a specific audio or video only format. Audio Files will be downloaded into Audio\

"Audio Only" requires FFMPEG to work as expected.

Ticking "Get Thumbnail" will download the thumbnail as well as the media file.

In the options menu, you can change the Media Output locations. In testing, use of quotation marks in this field breaks the program and thus should not be used. As a result of this, directories with spaces in the name will not work.

Ticking "Always Get Specific Audio" and "Always Get Specific Video" will allow you to specify formats to download by default. This defualt is used when no specifications are given on the main page.

The "Download FFMPEG" button should install FFMPEG as it runs this command: "winget install "FFmpeg (Essentials Build)"" Functionality of this feature has not been confirmed.

FFMPEG is required for any conversions, including Audio Only, and it also fixes 3 errors that pop up after a download. The program is still functional despite these errors and the download succeeds

Successful download operations will have their terminal outputs stores in "log.txt" Counterproductively, log.txt will be blank if a terminal operation fails.

I made this program out of interest for personal use and thus it is not likely to be updated unless I need it to be.
