README
MSEbuild
Command line tool that compiles an MSEgui project from its .prj file, the way MSEide does it with the Project > Make menu.
The project options are read from the [projectoptions] section of the .prj file: make command, main file, target file, unit directories, make options, commands before and after make, project macros. Macros are expanded with the msemacros unit of MSEgui, like in MSEide.
The settings macros (COMPILER, TARGET, MSELIBDIR…) are read from the MSEide settings file (the global configuration file written by Settings → Configure MSEide), at the same default location as MSEide (~/.mseide/mseideli.sta on Linux, mseidewi.sta in the application data directory on Windows), or from the file given with --settings (or --globstatfile, as for MSEide). They can be overridden by environment variables of the same name or with --macrodef.
Build
The MSEgui directory must be given with the MSEGUI variable, or with the MSEDIR environment variable:
make MSEGUI=/path/to/msegui
MSEDIR=/path/to/msegui makeUsage
msebuild [options] project.prj| Option | Meaning |
|---|---|
-b, --build |
Build |
-m, --make N |
Make N (1..4) |
-t, --tag N |
Raw make tag (1 = make, 2 = build, 4, 8, 16, 32 = make 1..4) |
-g, --macrogroup N |
Active project macro group (1..6) |
-d, --macrodef NAME,VALUE |
Define or override a macro (repeatable) |
--msedir DIR |
Same as --macrodef MSEDIR,DIR |
-s, --settings FILE |
MSEide settings file |
--globstatfile FILE |
Same as --settings |
-n, --dry-run |
Print the commands without running them |
-q, --quiet |
Do not print the commands |
Without -b, -m or -t, the default make of the project is used.
The MSEDIR macro must be defined, in the MSEide settings, in the environment or on the command line:
msebuild --msedir /path/to/msegui project.prj
MSEDIR=/path/to/msegui/ msebuild -b project.prjThe exit code is the one of the first command that fails, 0 on success.
