README
Moustique CECP
Description
Very simple chess engine using CECP (also known as XBoard or WinBoard) protocol.
Origins
The core of the engine is a didactic Turbo Pascal program by Jürgen Schlottke.
The CECP interface is an adaptation of the WinBoard protocol driver example by Harm Geert Muller.
Build
makeThe log file moustique.log is written only by a debug build (make DEBUG=1).
Test
make testThis builds and runs two programs. test/perft counts the nodes of the move tree for six standard test positions, and compares them with the published values. test/selfplay plays self-play games with random moves mixed in, and checks that every engine move is legal and that every announced game end is correct. It accepts two optional arguments: the number of games and the random seed.
