README

Flexget Config Editor (Customize)

A user-friendly graphical interface (GUI) for Windows to create, edit, validate, and run Flexget config.yml files. This tool is designed to simplify the management of Flexget configurations by providing a visual editor, removing the need to manually edit complex YAML files.

Features

  • Visual Editor: Create and modify tasks, templates, and schedules through a simple tree view and form-based interface.
  • Template Management: Easily add, remove, and rename multiple templates to reuse rules across different tasks.
  • Real-time Validation: Automatically runs flexget check when opening, saving, or before running a configuration to ensure your YAML is perfect.
  • Global Settings: Apply common settings (like qBittorrent details) across tasks with ease.
  • One-Click Execution: Run flexget execute directly from the application and see categorized output in real-time.
  • Proxy Support: Bypass IP blocks by configuring HTTP/HTTPS proxies directly in the app.
  • Smart Auto-Proxy: Automatically fetch and validate the top 50 elite proxies against your specific RSS URLs.
  • Run + Proxy Automation: One-click automation that finds a working proxy, validates it, and then starts the Flexget process.
  • Progress Tracking: Real-time progress bar for proxy testing and connection verification.
  • Smart Log Filtering: Output is automatically sorted into "Accepted," "Rejected," and "Others". It intelligently moves "Accepted: 0" summaries to the "Others" tab for a cleaner view.
  • Auto-Load: Automatically reloads the last used configuration file on startup.
  • Debug View: Inspect the raw YAML and the internal parsed data structure.

Installation & Setup

This application is portable, but it depends on Python and Flexget being installed on your machine.

Step 1: Install Python

Flexget runs on Python. Ensure you check "Add python.exe to PATH" during installation.

Step 2: Install Flexget

Open a Command Prompt and run:

bash
pip install "flexget[qbittorrent]"

Step 3: Configure qBittorrent

Enable the Web UI in qBittorrent (Tools -> Options -> Web UI) and set a username/password.

How to Use

1. Task Editor Tab

The heart of the application.

  • Tree View (Left): Navigate between Global Settings, Templates, Tasks, and Schedules.
    • Tip: You can rename Tasks and Templates by clicking on their name or pressing F2.
  • Bottom Buttons:
    • Add Task: Create a new task with RSS and Path.
    • Add Template: Create a new reusable template.
    • Remove Item: Deletes the selected Task or Template.

2. Run Process Tab

Execute your configuration and monitor results.

  • Run: Executes flexget execute. It will first perform a flexget check to ensure everything is valid.
  • Proxy Config:
    • Auto Get Proxy: Fetches a list of elite proxies and tests them against your selected URL until one works.
    • Test Connection: Manually verify if a specific URL is reachable through the current proxy settings.
    • Run by JSON: Allows running Flexget even when the RSS provider blocks your IP, by using a JSON proxy service (feed2json or rss2json) to convert feeds into local RSS files before running.
  • Output Tabs:
    • Accepted: Shows items picked up for download.
    • Rejected: Shows items filtered out.
    • Others: Shows general logs, discovery process logs, and empty summaries.

3. Configuration Validation

The editor acts as a safeguard:

  • On Load: Checks if the file you opened is valid.
  • On Save: Confirms the new changes haven't broken the configuration.
  • On Run: Prevents running a broken config unless you explicitly choose to bypass it.

Technical Details

  • Language: Delphi (VCL)
  • Style: Ruby Graphite
  • Configuration: Stores preferences in FlexgetCustomize.ini.
