README
EXO-SCOPE 📡
EXO-SCOPE is a highly immersive, retro-futuristic exoplanet exploration simulator. Acting as a deep-space telemetry operator, you are tasked with discovering habitable worlds, decoding mysterious alien transmissions, and surviving the perils of the cosmos—all through a Command Line Interface (CLI) and an atmospheric, data-driven HUD.
Rather than relying on 3D graphics, EXO-SCOPE builds tension through abstract data analysis, time-sensitive emergencies, and authentic sound design.
🚀 Key Features
- CLI-Driven Gameplay: Connect to sectors, apply noise filters, and deploy surface probes entirely through terminal commands.
- Retro-Futuristic Aesthetic: Authentic CRT monitor effects, scanlines, and vignette rendering powered by BGRABitmap.
- Atmospheric Sound Design: Fully integrated BASS audio featuring mechanical radar sweeps, fast-paced typewriter terminal feedback, and chilling ambient space noise.
- Interactive Starmap: Explore a massive 3000x3000 procedurally generated galaxy with telescope panning and gravitational lensing distortions near Black Holes.
- High-Stakes Decryption: Intercept and decrypt anomalous signals (biosignatures or megastructures) under extreme time pressure.
- Economy & Progression: Save/Load your progress, manage your research funding, upgrade your sensors, and avoid heavy penalties from catastrophic failures.
🛠️ Tech Stack
- Language/IDE: Free Pascal / Lazarus
- Graphics: BGRABitmap (Custom UI and rendering engine)
- Audio: BASS Audio Library
