Der Modifier read liest Daten:

1. von der Konsole ein.
2. aus einer Textdatei ein.
3. aus einer Binärdatei ein.

Beispiel:

while not Eof(myFile) do    // Die Schleife läuft solange bis das Dateiende der Textdatei erreicht ist
  Read(myFile, chrZeichen);  // Liest ein Zeichen aus einer Datei
