Hi

I am compiling for arm-linux-uclibc.

# sh compile_lib_qtopia.sh
Note: compile_lib_qtopia.sh i386 will compile with g++, compile_lib_qtopia.sh will compile with arm-linux-g++ using arm-linux-g++ and arm-linux-strip
please wait for compile to finish ...

lib/qwidget.cppb has :-

The reported errors are on lines:-

 t_retval = ((QWidget *)handle)->accessibleName();
((QWidget *)handle)->setAccessibleName(t_name);
((QWidget *)handle)->setAccessibleDescription(t_description);

Something wrong with QWidget in my Qt-embedded-opensource-4.5.2 compilation?

read Qt source code: src/gui/kernel/qwidget.h
...
#ifndef QT_NO_ACCESSIBILITY
Q_PROPERTY(QString accessibleName READ accessibleName WRITE setAccessibleName) Q_PROPERTY(QString accessibleDescription READ accessibleDescription WRITE setAccessibleDescription) #endif
...
This means your system Qt was compiled with QT_NO_ACCESSIBILITY which create a binary and source incompatible Qt for general qt applications or dependant libraries. However this is the usual case for embedded system Qts. I have no other solution for the moment then to advise, if possible, to compile and install an embedded qt compiled with the default settings ./configure -v -confirm-license -prefix `pwd` -opengl -xrender -xcursor -xrandr -qvfb -openssl -fontconfig -sm -opensource

For widely used devices with a preinstalled Qt, I could add these as a supported platform with a specific binding generated for those.

Hi Den

I am writing full blown Qt-embedded 4.5.2 Apps with sqlite and mysql backends for few months now, running on my At91Sam9263ek SBC.

Using uClibc rfs from http://buildroot.uclibc.org.

I do have a working fpc app using ncurses.

Please have a look at this thread with Jonas Maebe:-

http:/msg15204.html

My first decent working tool was Delphi 4. May I ask you, other than the Lazarus IDE, do developers using fpc+qt have any advantage over them who use C++, Ruby, python etc?

regards

Nataraj
