I see that in KDE I can drag-n-drop files from konqueror onto the lazarus source editor.

What I'd really like to do is "drop" a file into the source editor from the command line (of an xterm). How would I go about doing so?

Thanks,
David.

Select the text in the xterm, then middle click in the source editor.

On Windows you'd have to call a program that sends a WM_DROPFILES message to Lazarus. Dunno about Linux.

When I do this, the name of the selected file is pasted into the open source.

Any mouse-free method?

As a workaround, I'm trying to figure out how to create an XDND event from the command-line ... but ... there must be a better way!

Cheers,
David.
