I would still be interested in a response to:

(3) The debug window to evaluate/modify expressions/variables seems to have some limitations. I would like to have some confirmation that this is "on purpose" and not a bug for 0.9.24:

(3a) The expression syntax is rather restrictive, e.g. 1+2 evaluates fine, but 1 + 2 (i.e. with spaces) does not. Some operators (notably div and mod) are not known. Can and will this be extended?

(3b) The modify facility does not it planned
to be make this work?

Thanks for your feedback,

Tom

I guess you'll have to wait until Marc is back from his vacation.

Expression evaluation is done by gdb. Lazarus doesn't do anything with it. For div and mod I guess you should use their C equivalent. I started some expression parsing myself one day, but decided to wait with that till I complete my own debugger, since I need that there too. Unfortunately that project came to a halt since some Lazarus reworks required my attention.

It was the idea yes. IIRC it is possible in gdb, so only the TDebugger class (and derived classes) should get adapted.
