Not for the next release.

2 - The wiki page mentions "storing additional info in PPU's". This means, if i want to use class attributes, i will need to deploy my app with the ppu files?

No. The article is outdated.

The 3.0.x series won't contain this feature. My plan is however to merge the changes once I'm done with merging my dynamic packages changes. Thus the first version with it would become 3.2, but that is still far away.
