When and where (platform) is -fPic needed for libraries?
It is for Lazarus' Library template.

I need it only for Linux, aka OpenSuse 12.1 x86_64 no need for Win 32-64
At least for one common library used all those OSes

Check for tf_library_needs_pic in the system info files of fpc (fpc/compiler/systems/i*.pas).
