Hi,

Any ideas when (or if) PasWiki will be released to the public? I know about the Simple CMS downloads, but don't feel the urge to rewrite it into a full fledged wiki server with syntax parsing only to find PasWiki already does all that and could be released before I complete my wiki server.

I'm shopping for a wiki server to host the fpGUI toolkit content.

Regards,
- Graeme -

Anything wrong with putting it in the fpc wiki?

Oops, posting to the wrong mailing list. :-) Anyway, I thought the fpc wiki was only meant for FPC specific content. By that I mean FPC itself and any packages that ship with fpc releases, not other separate projects. Was I wrong?

Related projects are welcome too:

I can release something.

That would be great thanks.

But it won't have history/edit revisions.. Do you think you will be using many advanced features like history/visual editing?

I wasn't considering that a high priority. Though for revision history, I was thinking in the lines of what 'ikiwiki' does, by actually using a revision control system like SubVersion to track changes.

Or mainly worried about the parser and basic running system?

Those would be the more time consuming parts to implement yes. BTW: What syntax / markup have you implemented?
I started with a MarkDown syntax parser (mostly code snippets at the moment). I'd like to abstract it as a class which can then be used in other projects as well. Things like CGI apps or fpdoc's description files. eg: Editing the documentation in Lazde (or fpGUI's doceditor) using MarkDown syntax and when the documentation gets saved, convert it to XHTML (or possibly store it in MarkDown syntax in the XML files).

We provide also related projects wiki, scm and bug tracking access to simplify server maintainance.

The syntax used for one of my wiki parsers is currently like this: http://z505.com/cgi-bin/wik/wik?p=help

It also accepts HTML as input too.. so if you find you are missing a feature then you can just use HTML whenever needed. That could be disabled by filtering less than and greater than signs.

I have to do some stress testing with regards to 'Edit Conflicts' and will release simple wiki on sourceforge instead of just having some of the code on SVN. The parser and some other tests are on SVN already.

The parser is specially designed so it can be reused in procedural code or OOP code and can output any sort of format you want.. you just use events to trap what happens while it is parsing (or a.k.a. callbacks).

I am thinking of building a partial or near full mediawiki compatible parser if I have time. In fact I already have built one in another project that parses some of the wikipedia syntax but not all.
