Hello

I successfully compiled the glutdemo programexample delivered with the source of the opengl units. But if I try to run the executable I get the following error message:

An unhandled exception occurred at 0x00000000 :
EACCESSVIOLATION : Access violation
0x00000000
0x080483A7

The same happens with all the other programexamples. Does anybody has an idea what went wrong ?

Thank's in advance for any help

Sorry

I just remarked that on redhat 7.3 all the OpenGL stuff is installed except the glut library. I got it from
http://ccrma-www.stanford.edu/planetccrma/software/redupdates.html and installed it. Now everything works fine.

Ok, but if you go through that trouble to avoid linking errors, you'd expect them to also add error checking to avoid crashes in case the required libraries are missing :) Unless there's soem error checking in our units or in his test program missing, of course.

The missing glut dll/so is already almost a faq :) sg should really add a check :)

I'll see what I can do. If I remember correctly, the checks were removed when I switched to the OpenGL units from delphi3d.net. (And on Windows, you normally would get an error message, when a DLL cannot be found. For Linux, we should add a check.)
I have added this to my to do list.
