TFPCustomTimer.UseTimerThread property

Member of TFPCustomTimerprotectedIn unit fpTimer

Indicates if a thread is used to execute the timer event.

Declaration

pascal
property UseTimerThread: Boolean read FUseTimerThread write FUseTimerThread;

Description

When set to False, a threaded timer calls the Thread.Synchronize method to execute the OnTimer event handler in the context of the main thread for the application. When Set to True, a threaded timer can simply call its Timer method without synchronizing to the main thread. The latter implies that GUI updates are not performed in the OnTimer event.
