TDataSet.AutoCalcFields property

property AutoCalcFields: Boolean read FAutoCalcFields write FAutoCalcFields default True;

Description

AutoCalcFields is by default true, meaning that the values of calculated fields will be computed in the following cases:

• When the dataset is opened
• When the dataset is put in edit mode
• When a data field changed

When AutoCalcFields is False, then the calculated fields are called whenever

• The dataset is opened
• The dataset is put in edit mode

Both proper calculated fields and lookup fields are computed. Calculated fields are computed through the OnCalcFields event.
